Flower Cosmos
The yellow bump stood out against the vibrant purple of the ironweed. I had just cut the flower to start a bouquet to take home from my outing.* At first I thought it was some kind of growth on the flower, but when I looked closer I saw legs: on each side two tucked in towards the back, and two others held out wide ready to give a big hug.
